What is an airbrush.
An airbrush is a small, air-operated art tool that is
used to spray paint by a process of atomization.
It is effetively an air gun but designed to look and feel like a pen.
The paint or media is siphoned from a small reservoir mounted on the
side of the airbrush.
The airbrush does not come into contact with the object or canvas but
the artist maipulates the misture of the medium and air pressure by
depressing the trigger on the top of the airbrush whilst moving the
airbrush at varying distances from the surface being painted.
Airbrush technology allows the artist to create highly rendered images,
particularely softly defined edges, and a high level of realism. The
first modern airbrush was used by Charles Burdick and was presented
at te World Columbian Exhibition in Chicago.
